What an amazing project this was!
In total I wrote 71 tracks for the show over eight episodes with pretty much complete artistic freedom.
With this in mind, I had free rein to continue developing my own sound which I have been building upon for many years now. A mix of mostly organic instruments (cellos, organs, low woodwinds, xylophones, lots and lots of marimba etc) with plenty of my own vocals thrown in, along with a generous nod to my love of garage music. The aspect I am most proud of is that I built 99% of the sounds from the ground up in what I can only describe as musical sound-design. For example, the main sound I used throughout was made from a random boat fog horn I came across and another was a piano-type sound that was actually made of crash cymbals. I could list more but it would go on and on…. A very inspiring project to be a part of.
